Last summer, we had the pleasure of doing the flowers for Sarah and Jordan, a great couple that had great ideas for their wedding!  Lead mostly by Sarah, their wedding was a vision of classic beauty, where ethereal vintage was the main focus of the day!

Needless to say, it was a lovely day with lovely personal touches and we are so incredibly proud to have been a part of it, and even more excited that it made its way onto Martha’s blog  Congrats again to Sarah and Jordan!

This shoot was the brain child of Casidy McNaly of Meohmy Design and Michelle Lemley of Michelle Lemley Photography! The location was my family cabin located in beautiful Frisco Colorado in Rocky Mountain National Forest. The beautiful bundt cakes were provided by The Bundt Shoppe.  The model was a friend of Casidy’s – Kelsey Vernon and her hair and make-up were done by Stacy Stender. The dress was provided by Blue Bridal.

I believe these pictures (courtesy of Michelle Lemley Photography and Ashley Poskin of Ding-a-ling Vintage) really capture just how much fun you can have dressing and decorating for a winter wedding.  It also makes me want a cup of hot chocolate from that hot chocolate bar – even in 75 degree heat!

That’s right everyone!  I was invited to be apart of the fabulous institution that is Grace Ormonde!!  WOO HOO!!!

This has been such a huge honor for me, mostly because I admire what Grace Ormonde has accomplished in her career and because of how great a business they are, but also that such a huge “empire” would recognize me, and what I have accomplished in my career!  It is a huge morale booster and huge compliment! We have started this advertising with GO, in hopes that my exposure will extend nationally.  It has always been a dream of mine to work nationally and to experience weddings throughout the country (and maybe even the world!).  Keep your eyes open for some updates on when I may appear in the magazine and also on their online website!

2012 continues to prove that it is going to be an incredible and adventurous year!  Keep your eyes and ears open for a brand new portfolio, brand new faces on the website and fabulous wedding pictures coming your way!!

We have also been going going here at the shop!  We finished up a photo shoot up at my family’s cabin in Frisco, CO a few weekends ago with Photographer Michelle Lemley and designer Casidy McNally! We got a sneak peek from Michelle, and it looks pretty great!  We can’t wait to see what the finished product will yield!!

My obsession for Pinterest is also blossoming! I am finding that as far as inspiration boards with clients goes, it helps me so much to be able to create a board that is an active and ever changing inspiration board for my clients.  Also seeing my client’s boards has helped me a lot to be more actively involved in their visions and ideas!

We also got all new cards and stationary from a good friend and GREAT company called Flourish Letterpress.  Roger (along with his soon-to-be-wife) Jessica made another dream of mine come true with incredible stationary and cards that, I feel, finally reflect me and what my company is!  Fun, funky and versatile!! They are a joy to work with, and and truly great at what they do!

We can’t wait for this season to really start!

We have made a few changes here at Sweet Pea Flowers, too!  Last year I expanded my business by a couple of people and added some fabulous employees to help add to the character of my business, in addition to helping me so I stay sane  I added a great assistant, Lizzie, who has helped me stay organized and on track with all my goals and I added a great floral assistant, Ashley, to help me this summer!  Ashley will be my right hand wo-man this summer for executing all my designs, and in the short time she’s been with me, she has wowed me with everything she has come up with! We are going to have a great season!

I have also been invited to be apart of Style Me Pretty‘s , Little Black Book for vendors!  Look for me on their website within the next few weeks!  It is a huge honor, and I am very excited to be apart of something like this!

Sweet Pea’s is also involved with a few awesome photo shoots this spring!  Keep looking back for some great pictures from those shoots, as well as great real wedding photos that I will continually post as I get them!

I LOVE geraniums!!  Always have as far back as I can remember my mother still plants them every year.  I go pick out flats and flats of them to fill her garden.  They just make me happy!o
